Unsure=No Action. Bummer.

I went on a bear kick recently.

This is Barnum. He is completely hand sewn.

He is made of distressed mohair, has cotter pin jointing, has German blown glass eyes, and was an all around fun piece to make.

I took a cigar box and made a little environment for him, too. It has a circus theme.

Here is the rub: I don't know where to post him for sale!

I'd like to try eBay again, but what if he ends up going for $10 or some crazy number like that? A LOT of work went into him.

I could put him in my etsy shop, but then it could take a while for him to sell.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Have you had success on eBay (or a horror story)?

Thanks for coming by!

Until next time, happy handiwork!

Theresa

  1. Barnum is so cute! I understand your feelings about ebay, it can be risky. You can put a reserve price on it so that it will not go for less than you want for it. I hadn't used ebay in years and tried it 1 1/2 years ago but only sold 1 item out of 16. I hope that you come up with a solution.

  2. Theresa...Barnum is adorable!! I have never been brave enough to try ebay myself but I know others that have and with what they have told me I agree with Len....put a reserve on him. AS far as Etsy goes..well with Valentine's coming up you might be very surprised...he sure would be a cute gift.

    Something that lets me know we are somewhat kindred spirits when it comes to art...I have been working on some bear sculpts...^_^

  3. I dont know theresa, that is part of the reason I dont sell my bears, other then the memory bears, and those are only by word of mouth. The other bears, especially the tiny ones I wouldnt want to sell for less they 80.00. so.. I keep them, swap them and give them as gifts! if you come up with any great ideas, I would love to hear them.
    have a great night

  5. Thanks for the words of encouragement, ladies. I truly appreciate them. Len, reserve pricing is a good idea. If I "go there" on eBay, I'll try that. Regi, I think we are definitely on the same wavelength more often than not. Viv, I saw one of your little bears on a recent post. Darling!!!
    Petrine, I think I will be posting Barnum to my etsy shop on Wednesday of this week.
