Tomorrow...That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
It has been quite the week. Storms, flooding, volunteering in the kids' school, a funeral. Woof!
I have been working on a mini ADO project, in conjuction with my other items, and just haven't had time this week to finish up. Grumble, snort, spit.
The sculpts were easy this time. One piece was scrapped and redone but the other one worked out well first time around.
Today I hope to finish dressing them. (It isn't always easy to dress a three inch tall doll. Tiny, tiny britches, those!) We shall see if the new round of storms eats up all my time again or not.
Hopefully I can post SOMETHING new to view tomorrow.
If not, you'll know I floated away.
Just kidding. If not, you'll know that everything took twice as long as it should have (seriously...these storms are making things really dicey right now) and life just got in the way. Again.
Until next time, happy rainy days!

Why I Shouldn't Be Left Alone- Part 1
OK, I had a little money in my PayPal account and these tools have been calling to me for months.
"Buy us, Theresa. Buy us, and you will be so happy."
Normally I would say that things don't bring happiness. But the tools were RIGHT!
I AM so happy.
These are called Colour Shapers and they were originally meant to be a texturizing tool for paint. One could use them to sort of push the paint into different areas. Very cool.
I bought them, however, because they looked as though they would be easy to move across polymer clay.
I wanted something that could smooth as it goes. I also wanted something that could easily push, pull and move the clay.
I bought a whole set of #2 in firm.
I was worried that "firm" would be too stiff, but it is perfect. I think "soft" wouldn't be as useful.
If you can only buy one of the set, I would suggest the taper point, as it seems to be the most multi-purpose of the bunch.
Dick Blick had a really good price. Compare there before buying from another artist site.
This is one of the "THINGS" that I made.
He is baking in this picture.
You know it's bad when my husband comes in and asks me, "What IS that"?
and I reply, "Gee, I have no idea. It just sort of came out."
Husband shakes head and walks away.
Yep, that about sums it up.
Now the question is, what DO I do with him?
Until next time, happy new tool trying!

I'm IN!!!
It's official! I am finally on the ADO roster! I am so excited!
What is ADO?
Well, ADO stands for Art Dolls Only. You can take a peek at their blog at http://artdollsonly.blogspot.com/
If you visit the blog, there are links to facebook and twitter, too. Well worth the click!
This groups focus is to promote art dolls across the web. The members all have etsy shops in which to sell their work. The talent pool is big, big, BIG!
ADO holds challenges throughout the year, too. Prior to becoming a member, I would look at everyone's challenge pieces and drool.
And be envious.
And drool again.
Now I will be able to participate!
Now I will be able to participate!
I am beside myself! Pinch me!
Until next time, happy wishes coming true to you

Furious!
Either my mailman did it again or there is a thief afoot. My new set of heat set oils did NOT arrive when the post office says it did.
Their paperwork says it was delivered at 10:42. I was home at 10:42.
My door was open. (Yes, I live in SoCal, so it was about 75 degrees.)
I didn't leave the house until 11:10.
I DID, however, receive all of my next door neighbors mail. Again. Just like I do about once a month. I had no mail in my box for me at all.
Nada.
Zip.
Zilch.
I am hoping that whoever has it will return it. Sometimes I'll get my "lost" mail weeks later.
If it was stolen, I am probably out of luck. What a sad waste. The thief wouldn't know what to do with the paint. *sigh*
We shall see. I am just praying that I am not $50 poorer. I really needed that paint! My elves are sitting here waiting.
OK. My attitude is now adjusted. I am choosing to take a deep breath and move on.
Until next time, may only good things happen in your world.

It Was VIOLET!
And, of course, I didn't have my camera handy.
I am talking about the other night at my son's swim lesson.
The sky was the weirdest and most beautiful color I have ever seen.
It was bright, bright violet and navy and deep purple. AMAZING!
These pictures are from this morning's sunrise.
It was quite pretty as well.

As you can see, the moon was still out saying, "Hello" this morning.
Isn't the sky color interesting?
In fact, this whole week has been filled with amazing sunrises and sunsets.
Has it been extra spectacular lately or am I just outside and paying attention more often as of late?
I definitely feel that God is trying to get my attention.
I am now addicted to watching the sun rise and set.
Such a peaceful and meditative way to start and end the day.
Thanks for listening to me wax poetic about something basic.
Tomorrow I'll show you my newest elf. (I scrapped two yesterday in a snit. I sculpted for hours and the end results were not at all what I had visualized. They had to die. It was their clay-ish fate.)
Until next time, happy sky watching!

Was Blind..
...and now I am a little blinder!
These are some of the eyes that I make for my teeny-tiny creations.
Since I am no longer a spring chicken, it isn't always easy to see what I am doing!
And while I am not a perfectionist in everything that I do, eyes are pretty darned important to a piece, don't you?
Unfortunately, this pair is less than perfect.
Being able to see what you are doing is not overrated!
Luckily, Santa whispered in my parents' ears that I could really, really, REALLY use an Ott light.
Especially an Ott light with a magnifying glass attached.
Looking at the first photo, I probably should have asked for some hand lotion as well, but that's a post for another day.
They will need to go to a character with a heavy lid.
Crossed eyes have their own appeal, no?
Perhaps next time I'll post some eyes that I made when I could actually SEE what I was doing, instead of those made using intuition and luck.
Or maybe I'll post whatever ends up with these eyes...
Until next time, happy envisioning!
